Since 1978, we’ve handcrafted boots for those who forge their own path and carry the weight of hard work with pride. Our team in Calgary meticulously assembles each pair as a custom design from start to finish, honoring the West’s enduring values of integrity, grit and connection to the land.
They may look like showpieces, but our boots are built to be worn, weathered, and passed down like the stories of those who wear them. Because “my boots” means something deeper when they’re handmade. They’re a testament to your conviction that some things deserve to be made with intention and built to endure.
The modern cowboy boot was born of necessity; made to be tough and stand up to long days in the saddle. Over time, it became a symbol of grit, rebellion, and authenticity. And today, our company is still firmly rooted in the West, creating boots that transcend geography, and resonate with all who feel the pull of its spirit.

Our enduring commitment to craftsmanship is woven into every pair of boots that bears our name. The painstaking 140-step process that began with our founder in 1978 is still performed by skilled hands to ensure unsurpassed integrity.
It starts with hand-selected, full-grain leather, chosen for its breathability, water resistance and pliability. As it ages, it shapes to your foot, deepening in beauty and uniqueness. Each piece of leather is then cut using metal dies and sent to the sewing room, where artisans sew linings and outer shells with precision.
Unlike mass-produced footwear, our boots are hand lasted for a glove-like fit that ensures the leather settles naturally, improving comfort and longevity. The leather is stretched and molded over a wooden form – a last – to customize width, toe style and fit.
Finally, we build in the features that create our signature durability: Goodyear welt construction, fully corked midsoles, and composite shank arch support. Every sole is stitched with heavy-duty nylon thread and secured with over 30 nails, then finished with a painted heel and softened seams for all-day comfort.
Each pair is a testament of quality, heritage, and Alberta Boot Company craftsmanship.
In a world that prioritizes speed and volume, our steadfast devotion to handcrafted leather boots is rare. It’s also the reason kindred spirits find us. As long as there are true originals with a love for the Western way of life, we’ll be here – making boots worthy of hard work and all your greatest adventures.
