Few stages in professional rodeo carry the weight, scale and prestige of RODEOHOUSTON. For twenty days, the world's best rodeo athletes converge under the NRG Stadium lights, chasing championships, career-defining moments, and a place among rodeo's elite. Referred to as the "Super Bowl of Country Culture" (New York Times), RODEOHOUSTON brings together stiff competition, deep-rooted tradition, and global attention all under one roof.
Inside the RODEOHOUSTON Super Series
RODEOHOUSTON is made up of five three-day Super Series, each featuring three rounds of competition. Across every series, elite athletes compete in the eight premier rodeo events:
- Bareback Riding
- Saddle Bronc Riding
- Bull Riding
- Tie-Down Roping
- Team Roping
- Steer Wrestling
- Barrel Racing
- Breakaway Roping

At the conclusion of each Super Series, the top four money earners in each event advance to one of the two Semifinals. From here, both semifinal events advance the top four athletes to the Championship, while the remaining competitors receive a second chance at securing their spot through a Wild Card round. From the two Wild Card rounds, the top athlete in each event will proceed to the Championship.
RODEOHOUSTON Championship Round and $65,000 Shootout
Each event in the Championship round has 10 athletes (4 from each Semifinal round and 1 from each Wild Card round). The top four from the Championship will then advance to the Championship Shootout Round, where event champions are determined, and the $65,000 payout is awarded.

With a total purse of $2,533,500, RODEOHOUSTON is one of the richest rodeos in the world. Champions also receive a custom-made saddle, a championship belt buckle, and an invitation to return the following year.
RODEOHOUSTON is an official Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and National Finals Rodeo (NFR) sanctioned event and money earner, meaning all earnings won at RODEOHOUSTON count towards the NFR and PRCA World Standings, making every ride, run, and score crucial to an athlete's career.
